Catherine Stuart
I am a figurative sculptor.I work in various media: bronze, plaster, ciment fondu, metal, glass, fabric and video.
When my work does not contain the figure it describes instead elements used by the body, for example: a chair, a dress, a sleeping place.
Through having been taught at art school and also through teaching sculpture, I know that making art is liberating in an almost meditative way and can open up and also calm the mind.
