COS at The Times Cheltenham Literature Festival

As well as a small exhibition in the Town Hall, Spa Well including some artists books and journals other COS members are busy at work onsite.

Town Hall, Spa Well exhibtion from Sunday 7

COS Sculptor Natasha Houseago will be carving a totem, in green local wood, to mark this year’s Festival. Visitors can view the entire process — from initial working drawings to finished scorched and coloured sculpture — in Montpellier Gardens (weather permitting).

Sunday 7 October 6th October, 10am-5pm, and 7th October, 10am-1.30pm

Visual Arts and Music12 (4th - 15th July)

There’s some excellent visual art on show, during Music12, including work by COS members Peter Granville Edmunds and Rob Goldsmith.

Peter's emotionally charged abstract paintings in this exhibition have been especially made for Music12 and are spontaneous, in-the-moment responses to a selection of the work being performed this year.

Flying the flag for Music12

Members from Cheltenham Open Studios have been involved in a project for the Cheltenham Music Festival where groups from different sections of the local community have created a magnificent display in celebration of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.

Jubilee Celebrations and Art competition for pupils of St Johns school

St Lukes Church hosted a Jubilee Event over the Bank Holiday weekend, with workshops and an art competition run by COS members.

The art competition was run for pupils of St Johns school

The pupils’ work was exhibited along with work from St Lukes art group and COS members. The school prize was presented to the winner with a visit to the school from our Treasurer, Sylvia Lauder and the Vicar at St Lukes Church.
