Sammi Fletcher
Sammi Fletcher, MA. (b. 1972), lives and works in Gloucestershire. She has a feminist based,
research led, multi-disciplinary practice with a focus on painting and film. She is interested
in writing, listening and creating conversations
Sammi Fletcher's research investigates and interrogates conscious and unconscious bias
from an intersectional feminist perspective. Looking at the cracks and edges of society, the
voids caused by societal values and mass media. Exploring invisibility through visibility in
an increasingly autotheoretical practice, she examines the dichotomies between abjection,
desire, identity, fragmentation and boundaries - and how society frames us all.
"Sammi's powerful work explores auto-theoretical approaches to crip, queer, non-
conforming bodies, playing with painting, self-portrature, photography and writing"
