Turner's art is emotionally charged, less about achieving realism and more about capturing the essence of the subject through emotional resonance. Whether floral or figurative, her work explores themes of vunerability, self perception and complexity of aging and human identity. Often the emphasis is on texture through paint, machine stitch or hand embroidery. More recently thin layers of oil paint are explored, especially in her figurative works.
