Painswick Art Studios
Painswick Art Studios is home to a diverse community of artists, with three of them taking part in Cheltenham Open Studios this year.
Ange Mullen-Bryan is a contemporary landscape painter working in oils on coloured linens. Her work is inspired by the vast forests and lakes of central Sweden, a place she has returned to annually for nearly 30 years. Imbued with memory and mystery, her paintings explore our connection to the natural world. Angemullenbryan.com
Nadia Ryzhakova is a painter who combines fluid art with storytelling. Using an acrylic pouring technique, she allows paint to flow freely across the surface, creating organic forms that evoke natural elements such as trees, clouds, water, and the cosmos. Through this free-flowing process, figures and landscapes emerge, weaving together personal narratives and memories. Nadiaryzhakova.com
Laura Doff is an illustrator whose work reflects her love for the natural world and the local community. Laura’s illustrations are characterised by patterns, colour, and graphic shapes inspired by vintage textiles and the details she observes while walking in nature. Her designs bring movement and depth to everyday scenes, celebrating the beauty of the environment and human connections. Lauradoffillustrations.com
