Sylvia Sandwith
My work draws on a wide range of influences of travelling and living in
far flung places across the globe in Australia,, the Middle East, Asia, America and Continental Europe.
I have a fascination with Australian light and colour, tropical plants,
Middle Eastern Architecture, as well as verdant English gardens. These are painted on either large 1 x 1 metre canvasses, as well as much smaller works.
My work is spontaneous, with lots of vivid acrylics, coloured inks, and softer pastel colours. I often add layers of textures, markings and collage papers.
